This microlot comes from the Muchagara factory. Muchagara is a Kikuyu name for one of the villages in the Kirinyaga region of Kenya. The factory was opened in 1959 and is used by nearly 500 members of the Baragwi co-op. The co-op has been focused on producing quality coffee since 1953 to promote the social economic interests of its members, processing and exporting coffee and access to better markets.
A mix of SL-28 and SL-34 varieties, and grown between 1,700 – 1,800 masl, this coffee is dynamic and light-bodied at the same time. Bold acidic notes of lemonade appear upfront followed by the light sweetness of tropical fruits such as mango and coconut, and the clean, sweet finish rounds out an extremely pleasant coffee experience.
