We are thrilled to be sharing coffee from José Caez for the very first time! José has been producing coffee for 40 years and now he and his wife Maria own two farms that they operate with their three children. This lot comes to us from their farm San Vicente via innovative Colombian exporter Azahar Coffee. Azahar’s work is driven by a vision to de-couple producers’ coffee prices from the volatile commodity market. Instead, he hopes to tie the quality and sustainability to their farms; an awesome example of leaving the people he works with better than they found them.

Vibrant and complex, the José Caez is full of ripe passion fruit and the juiciness of yellow Starburts. These intense flavors are rounded out by a heavy body, balanced with the delicate and sweet nuance of wildflower honey. This is an excellent coffee for anyone that loves an adventurous single origin.

Brew Recipe

To get the best out of this coffee we always recommend this recipe as a stating point

  • Brew with a 1:16 ratio (one gram of coffee to every 16 grams of water).
  • Get your Water as HOT as you can.
  • Adjust your grind for a 3-4 minute brew time. (The finer the grind, the longer it will take to brew)

Enjoy
