This coffee comes from the smallholder farmers organized around the Kiaguthu Factory (or Wet Mill) in the Nyeri region of Kenya. Located just southwest of Mount Kenya and east of the Aberdare Mountain Range, the farmers here are able to take advantage of the loamy, volcanic soil in the area to produce incredibly flavorful coffee.
A mix of SL-28 and SL-34 varieties, and grown between 1,800-1,900 masl, this coffee has a clarity and sparkle that shine together. Bold acidic notes of black cherry cola appear upfront followed by a ripe strawberry sweetness, and the clean, sweet finish rounds out an extremely pleasant coffee experience.
