This coffee comes to us from Finca Los Papales, a family-run operation in the Jinotega region of Nicaragua. The Angelina Lopez family has managed this farm for over a century, with generations working together to run the estate. Java is still relatively new to Latin America, first introduced in the 1990’s the varietal demonstrated a unique and exotic profile when grown at high elevations. Partnering this with the Angelina Lopez family's specialization in natural processing promises an incredibly nuanced fruit-forward cup.  We are stoked to share a coffee with an equally rich history and flavor!

To get the best out of this coffee, we always recommend this recipe as a starting point

  • Brew with a 1:16 ratio (one gram of coffee to every 16 grams of water).
  • Get your Water as HOT as you can.
  • Adjust your grind for a 3-4 minute brew time. (The finer the grind, the longer it will take to brew)
